What Is Living, Really?

No one can tell us what living is. If there is something to discover about living, perhaps it cannot be borrowed from another. Perhaps it must be discovered directly.

What is it that is actually living?

Is it the body?

Is it thought?

Is it memory?

Is it relationship?

Is it awareness?

is it the future?

I don’t know

What is it that is actually living?

What does the past have to do with living?

What does the future have to do with living?

Is living happening anywhere other than now?

Is remembering living?

Is anticipating tomorrow living?

Can thought experience what is actually happening now?

What does fear have to do with living?

What does relationship have to do with living?

Is merely surviving the same as living?

Are we actually living, or are we mostly living through memory and anticipation?

Are we driven by words?
Can a word control the way we feel, think, and act?
Are we driven by pleasure and the desire to repeat it?
When pleasure has passed, is it pleasure itself that we pursue—or the memory of it?
How much of what we call living is actually being directed by words and memories?
And if we see this happening, can we simply observe it without trying to change it?
